DENTURES & PARTIALS
Dr. Roger Anderson may recommend dentures to restore your smile if you have lost many or all the teeth in your upper or lower dental arch. While dentures have a reputation for being loose and uncomfortable, advances in dentistry have made it possible for dentures to fit more comfortable and to look, feel and function more like your original teeth than ever before!
Dentures are a type of removable oral appliance. They are custom-designed to fit your mouth and smile, and work by replacing your missing teeth so that you can speak clearly and eat normally. They have the added benefit of restoring your natural facial volume and giving you back a confident and beautiful smile. Dentures are intended to help you regain your quality of life.
There are two main types of dentures available:
Complete Dentures – This type of denture is used to replace all the teeth in a full dental arch.
Partial Dentures – This type of denture is recommended when you have lost many teeth but still have some healthy teeth remaining. Partial dentures use thin frameworks or clasps to attach to your natural teeth and ensure a secure fit.
Dentures may also be anchored in place by dental implants if needed.
When you receive dentures, Dr. Roger Anderson will provide you with instructions on the best way to care for your appliance. Please be aware that your dentures may require regular maintenance at our office to continue providing you with the best results for your smile as you may eventually need to replace your dentures.
